JACKSONVILLE, TX – Century Industrial Coatings announced this week the release of two new high-performance coatings lines – CenturyExtreme and Century EcoExtreme -- as well as the release of two other specialty products.

CenturyExtreme is Century’s excursion into the standard-VOC high-performance market, and consists of a cost-effective epoxy primer (184-Series) and two polyurethane Direct-to-Metal coatings. A compliant-VOC Polyurethane topcoat is also in the works.

The 184-Series MPA Epoxy Primer is ideal for protecting steel from moderate to severe atmospheric exposure. Easy to apply, the 184-Series MPA Epoxy is an ideal coating for any project.

The 600-Series is Century’s oldest Urethane coating, with proven performance in the oilfield storage tank market, as well as in the transportation coatings market. The 602-Series is a newer DTM, offering the same type of protection with slightly lower VOCs.

Century EcoExtreme caters to those producers who require and wish for extremely low VOCs while getting the same level of high-performance protection.

The 183-Series Epoxy primer is a fast-set primer with high solids and hyper-low VOCs. The product’s quick-set attribute allows for recoat within 3-4 hours (at 77°F/50% RH) and for as long as 72 hours without surface abrasion.

The 605-Series Urethane Topcoat is a perfect complement to the 183-Series, offering a wonder finish-coat appearance and protection, while curing in less than ideal conditions. With dry-to-touch cure in 10 minutes at 77°F/50% RH, the 605-Series will set-up quickly in cool or warm temperatures.

The 606-Series Direct-to-Metal Urethane utilizes Polyaspartic/polyurethane hybrid technology, offering high-end protection with limited VOC-exposure. Ideal for OEM manufacturers, the 606-Series can be a high-volume producer’s go-to product for protection and appearance.

Along with those two lines, Century also released a zinc-rich CenturyGuard Epoxy Primer for cathodic/galvanic protection. Modeled after the 183-Series, it offers protection in even the harshest environments, while also limiting VOCs.

The 615-Series (CryoSet) is a Urethane Primer design to cure at low temperatures, as low 30°F without any signs of blushing that occur in standard epoxy primers. The product still offers high-level corrosion protection with low VOCs, and can be used in standard temperatures for a fast-cure primer option.

Century Industrial Coatings, based in Jacksonville, Texas, is a custom coatings manufacturer and leader in water-based, low VOC coatings. Winner of the 2012 Texas Environmental Excellence Award for its work on a water-based steel joist primer, Century remains on the cutting-edge of coatings technologies moving forward.
